when travelling I left my laptop in sleep mode for a week and the battery drained ( I think). Now when I connect to AC charger the led briefly glows orange (1 second or less) then turns white, but after 3-4 seconds it goes out. I disconnected the battery and tried to start laptop with just AC power - no good. 

The adaptor shows steady 19.8 volts at the connector and is not damaged. The pins are not damaged or bent inside the laptop adaptor receptacle. 

Laptop does not have enough juice to startup. 

any workarounds or solutions short of taking it to a repair shop ? - (which is where I plan to go on Monday.)
