Gutsy Update?

I have an E1505n laptop. In Oct. 2007, Gutsy will be released. Will this appear as an update and if so will updating to Gutsy void the Dell warranty/support?

It will be an update from Ubuntu's site. Dell doesn't offer windows updates, I don't expect they'll offer linux ones either.

My E1505n came preloaded with automatic Ubuntu updates. An icon will appear on the toolbar and I just click on the icon to start the updating. I have received this update icon at least three times. My question is... Will the release of Gutsy in Oct. come as an update? If so... Will Dell support this update or tell me the computer was not shipped with Gusty? This question is unique to Ubuntu which has a new release every six months.

If you take a look at this, you will find that upgrading is quite easy. You just need to click that button, answer a few questions, and it'll be on its way. After the process is done, just reboot and you will be in your new version. As if that's not enough, you can continue working while it's installing!

I will tell you that I was a bit apprehensive about clicking that button and seriously considering a totally new install like I usually do, but this process *does* work, much to my amazement.
