I have an I8200 with the nivida GeForce 2 ddr
and I have tried to install Mandrake 9.0.1

of course it took me a while to figure out what was wrong with my video
but I found just about everything I thought I need right here "thanks to all"

Well I got the kernel and glx rpm installed, and I changed "nv" to "nivida"


when I run startx I get big fat fatal server error that reads

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialze the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA(0): *** Aborting ***
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usalbe configuration.

Fatal server error:
no screens found


My guess is that I need to do some configuring to the XF86Config-4 file
but I have no idea what needs to be done

anyone have this same problem

Please help

I need linux for a COCS4302 and I really dig Mandrake even thought they just filed ch11
