alianware x51: internal hard disk drive not found

Since today my pc keeps crashing, a few minutes after i turned it on it crashes then I see a black or white screen after that the lights of my pc go on and off and then it says:

internal hard disk drive not found

to resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.

No bootable devices

Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 enter setup menu, F5 enter PSA

when i press F1 it doesn't really do anything. i really don't know what to do now i've had this computer for 2  years now and i didn't really download any pc upgrades and stuff. a lot of my school work is still on this computer and i don't want to loose it all.

can somebody help me??

Run the diagnostics on the hard drive to see if it has failed. This is the reason you need good backups. Reboot and tap F12 until you get to the boot menu to select the diagnostics.

I had similar issues earlier than went away by simply unplugging the HD and re-seating it.

    Hi MirianM,

If you're still experiencing this issue, try running an ePSA diagnostic as explained in this video. If no errors come up, try reseating the HDD and re-installing Windows as explained here.

Let me know how it goes!

Same problem for me today. I hit F2 to enter setup and then I changed my boot settings to "Legacy".... no idea what I did but it works now.
