Alienware Aurora R2 Power supply
I have to buy a new power supply for my allienware Aurora R2. I was wondering if someone could tell me which type of power supply I need to buy in order to be compatible with my Aurora R2. I tried looking at the power supply when I opened my computer but it was blocked by a shell so I couldn't see what type I needed.

I suggest one of the Dell 875w models.
It will be the last PS this machine will need, until it is retired.
Try to get a new one. A second-choice (if you must) would be a "working pull" from an Aurora-R4 (age will be less than one "pulled" from an Aurora R1-R3).

You should review the Service Manual page 55 on how to remove the power supply to see the label on it. Below are the Dell vaidated power supplies =
W299G 875w Delta
J556T 875w Hipro
0G05V 525w Hipro
U597G 525w Delta
Do an internet search for those Dell part numbers to get descriptions of them.
