SSD Slot
Hello Dell,
I recently purchased an Alienware 14, and I was looking to upgrade from the 750 gb HDD. I have never upgraded a laptop before and I have heard that the SSD can be put in the Alienware 14 easily, also I have heard the SSD sits comfortably next to the HDD, is this true? Can both the the SSD and HDD be used at the same time in these Alienware 14 laptops? Also, what is the difficulty level of the installation? Thank you for all help provided.

Hi!
The Alienware 14 has 2 SATA III ports and an mSATA. One of the SATA III ports is occupied by the Disc Drive, so if you want to add an SSD you have to either use the mSATA port or remove the Disc Drive.
This means that the computer can support up to 3 drives: two 2.5-inch solid-state drive or hard drive (2nd HDD is optional and is located in the optical drive bay) and one mSATA solid-state drive
