Still problems with the m17xr2

Hi,

I am still having problems with my m17xr2. The problem is every couple of months I get a Windows error stating to check that my hardware has been installed correctly and Windows will not start. I fix this error by starting in safe mode, uninstalling the video drivers, restart windows and then reinstall the drivers. The laptop works fine until the next time it happens.

Does anyone else have this problem and if so, how did you fix it? I have a pic of the error if needed.

This laptop has really been frustrating and has definitely made me reconsider any further dell purchases but I will refrain myself from ranting just yet....

Thanks,

If you had one of the following installed, you could have escaped all that hassle:
    Rollback RX Pro
    EAZ Fix Pro
    Farstone RestoreIT
    ShadowProtect Desktop

Did you try System Restore first?

I didn't need to do a system restore or reinstall windows. It was just a simple reinstall of the display drivers. So it is a relatively quick fix but I don't think it should happen as often or regularly as it has so far.

    It was a machine_check_exception:
*** Sm wondering if it is my hardware or if anyone else has had similar problems. I have normally only had these problems when my hardware has been on the way out.

    Thanks
