0KWVT8 A03 memory supported
will 0KWVT8 motherboard accept 1866 MHz ram and allow to operate at that speed?

um,alright - thanks for the response. i was reading that the cpu supports ram of this speed, regardless of what is on intel's page. i am just wondering if the motherboard (0kwvt8) limits the speed somehow or accepts it.
The limitation is based on the motherboard chipset AND cpu FSB. The 8700 is not a "Devil's Canyon" Haswell refresh motherboard with Overclocking and Ram voltage above 1.5v
The K version of the I7 4790 cpu is the overclocking version.

KWYT8 is XPS8700 motherboard.
Ram Speed is based on the CPU and chipset.
Putting faster ram in does NOT increase the speed. So the answer is No and No.
