4600 - Performance settings

When I right click "My Computer," click the "advanced" tab, then go into the performance settings, I set it for "Best Appearance."  However, everytime I restart or turn my computer on, the setting "Show window contents while dragging" gets unselected.  Is there anything I can do about this?

    Did you click on the apply button at the botttom before you exited?

    Yep, I've made sure to click "Apply" and then "OK," my computer has XP Pro if that helps any...

    Check display properties / appearance / effects, and see if the box for 'show window contents while dragging' is checked there?

    Yes, I've even tried doing that, the box simply becomes unchecked after a restart, or turning the computer on.  I'd really appreciate it if someone knwos how to fix this problem, it's getting pretty annoying..

    Do you have visual effects set on custom settings?

    There is probably a problem with windows. You can try putting your windows cd in and using the repair function to see if that fixes it.

    I have tried selecting the "custom" with all boxes checked, and selecting "for best apperance" both result in the same, the window contents not showing after i restart

    There are settings at the top left for letting windows choose whats best,adjust for best performance,adjust for best quality, and custom.

    how do i get to the repair function? i tried putting in the Windows XP Pro CD, but couldn't find that option
