8800 gts Upgrade question
I have a 9150 which i think is the same as an xps 400. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a 8800 gts 640mb.
Specs are as follows:
Dual Core 3gz
1Gb 533mhz
320gb
7900gs (-------> 8800 gts 640mb)
X-fi
2007wfp
etc.
First thing i want to know is does the 9150/xps400 have the same case and motherboard as the 410xps? (Does it actually fit in the case and is it compatible?) Am i right to assume that my power supply will be enough for the graphics card (Under the presumption that its also a 375w)? Finally, is it actually worth my while to upgrade my graphic card or wait?
I'm sure many of these questions have been answered in scattered threads but i just want to be sure before i make such a big investment (to me anyway lol). I bought the computer like <8 months ago and it is already struggling to run some of the new games and or demos i play (On quite low settings as well mind you).
Thanks

that's what i have, 8800GTS XFX .. 320MB version, fyi, its 320 dedicated but nvidia turbo cache addl 767 mhz, so including virtual memory and dedicated i have 1087 mb vram haha, crazy, supreme commander runs like I have never seen before- so the 375 watts is enough to run the 8800 card??????? i was thinking of getting the xps 410 but didnt think the psu was powerful enough. and the xps 710 seem kind of BIG. i thought the 8800 needed at least 400 watts if not more, assuming u have 2 optical drives, 2 hdd, and all the other goodies.

Trust me, i have XPS 400 with 375 watts PS, my 8800GTS runs fine on it, BUTTTTTTTTT 8800GTX will not do, but GTS will run perfectly fine. Dell 375watts PS advertise the constant power it puts out.... lots of the 400, 450. 500 watts u see on sale are the peak outputt, sometimes their lowest or normal output is like 200 or 300 watts the most. You get what you pay for.... our 375 watts might as well be like 400 or 450 watts PS in the store on sale.- 8800GTX in D9200 (same as XPS 410):
