Waves MaxxAudioPro won't turn on

Question

For some reason my Waves MaxxAudioPro won't allow me to turn it on so I can adjust the Equalizer. I have a tinny sound now instead of a really good sound I was having. I have already done the check drivers, run troubleshooters and other listed help steps but have not found anything close to what I need to fix the issue

It seems that the Waves MaxxAudio Pro is default to incorrect type of speaker.  If you are exhausted with troubleshooting and repair steps, just perform a complete uninstall of audio driver, check the box to remove associate applications.  Reboot the system and allow audio drive to be installed.  Either through Device Manager scan new hardware or running a Windows updates, check in optional updates if it does not update audio driver automatically.  Reboot system again and check to see if Waves MaxxAudio Pro get installed.

@Sirpaws  - Always include PC model and version of Windows in your posts. This is important here because on XPS 8930, for example, Waves is installed as part of the Realtek Audio drivers, but it's separate from the Realtek drivers and installed independently on some other XPS models.What do you mean: '...my Waves MaxxAudioPro won't allow me to turn it on' ?  Are you sure Waves is loading at boot? Look at Startup tab in Task Manager and make sure it's enabled. Is the Windows Sound Settings screen set to use (Speakers/Headphones (Realtek Audio) or something else?  Are you using desktop (front L/R) speakers, 5.1 audio, headphones...? And where are they connected to PC?When configuring Waves, power PC off completely and then disconnect all audio output devices. Power on and boot to desktop. Confirm that Waves is running. Now plug in the output device into rear audio port. If you have more than just one pair (L/R) of speakers, plug in front L/R first into the correct audio output ports on rear of PC, and wait for Waves to pop up and ask what you connected.  Choose best option from the drop-down list it offers. Then plug in rear L/R speakers, if any, and wait for Waves. Plug in subwoofer last, if any. Now open the Waves Control panel (look for the 'W' icon near the clock). When it opens, click the Playback icon and see if you can enable the Equalizer. Then scroll down and make sure it shows the correct output device. If not, see if there's a better option on the drop-down menu. Last, save the profile with a new file name, not one of Waves' pre-set file names.  You can create multiple profiles for different kinds of audio output. Last profile used will be loaded at next boot, but you can change profiles at any time, once Waves is running, and this other profile will be the one loaded at next boot...
