Audio Interferance

Hi, When ripping cd's to pc in MP3 format I sometimes get interferance that sounds a bit like static on some of my songs. I do not get it when I download music from the internet but if I burn it to disc it sometimes happen. I have tried different ripping programs but with no joy. Can anyone help? I have a dimension 5100 and a Creative sound blaster audigy 2 sound card if that helps!

If you have other programs running that has the potential to cause interference and can show up as noise.  Whenever I do any ripping or CD burning I close open programs such as the browser, e-mail, etc.

If you rip them as wav files do you get the noise?  (you can convert them from wav to MP3).
