Boot problem with Dimension 9200 desktop with Windows Vista -" System does not support BBS"
Hello,
I recently purchased a used Dell Dimension 9200 desktop computer but upon booting I get error messages past the Dell screen (vista doesn't load)
"System BIOS does not support BBS"
and further down: "Internal Error - PnP and PCI compliant BIOS not Present Drive 1 not found: Serial ATA, SATA-1"
Pressing the F12 key at startup brings me to a special menu and I can access the BIOS but I don't know which settings to change or what to do to solve the problem.
Booting from CD/DVD does not work nor USB booting even with changing the boot sequence in the BIOS.
I restored to default BIOS settings but the problem is the same.
I only have USB keyboard and USB mouse connected to the PC.
What might be wrong?
It is starnge because when I bought the PC at the seller's house it worked (I could see the Vista screen) but not at my home 20 minutes later (with different mouse and keyboard but that's all).
Could something have broken inside the PC like the power supply? I read in other forum posts (not on dell.com) that one user had the same problem as me and he changed the AC power supply and it worked...
