Cannot open Safe Mode ...

I have a chronic problem with my PC.  I contacted the rep for my security program.  After several weeks of troubleshooting, the problem is not resolved.  The security program rep suggested that I open in Safe Mode and requested a file from that mode.

I tried several times to open the PC in Safe Mode as per instructions, each time it failed and displayed this message:
"Auto Detect (Analog Input) Cannot Display this Video Mode"

The security program rep suggested that the video card was not allowing the PC to open in Safe Mode, “I recommend you contact the video card manufacturer as
their support should be able to provide you with a more detailed solution on
this issue …the video card manufacturer can tell you how to remove the message you are getting when trying to boot in Safe Mode”

Well, of course, directly contacting the vid card manufacturer is near impossible.  The vid card is identified:  INTEL (R) G33/31 EXPRESS CHIP FAMILY

OS - Windows XP home.

I will appreciate any suggestions etc.  Thanks, Jerry
