Is there a possibility the new batteries are bad or installed wrong?

I just got the wireless keyboard and mouse. Really nice to use (reccommended option). Unless your a big gamer (from what I've read in this forum). Sounds like you have all the bases covered in the earlier responses. I'll just add that  I went through mouse batteries in 3 weeks, so you should become proficient at changing them quickly. Forunately the keyboard and the mouse only use two  AA's each.
