Dimension 3000 bootup error

I have a dimension 3000 that lately when I turn it on I get disc error message and to run the set up.  When I go into the setup the clock is reset to 00:00:00 and the date is reset at Jan 01 2006.  Once I set everything to current time and date everything runs fine.  Until the next time I turn it on.

Any ideas?

    Replace the $3 CR2032 coin battery on the motherboard. Get it at any discount store jewelry counter. Follow the directions in your manual.

    Thanks.  I had a feeling that was the problem but I'm afraid I'm not an expert.  I needed to hear it from someone smarter than me.
