Dimension 9200 Hardware
I want to buy a new computer, and have decided on a Dimension 9200. Can anyone tell me or point to a location where I can find specific info on the hardware. I would like to know exactly what I spending my money on, and what the motherboard is.

- Thanks. The info on the site just describes the hardware by the product type and size, eg 320GB 7200rpm hard drive, not the make. There is a big difference between search times, depending on the manufacturer and model number. Also no info on power supply coolers etc.If it's a bespoke Dell motherboard then how do we know the FSB speed and slot numbers?

If you want to pick the brand of your components then you would need to have a system custom built for you. Most makers like Dell or HP use whoever they have a contract with. Dells uses quality brands and you don't have to worry too much. As for CPU coolers Dells use a proprietary design. Only the XPS 710 H2C uses water cooling because it's overclocked. Other Dell models don't have overclocking capability so extra cooling isn't necessary. As with all newer Dell models you can upgrade the power supply if you feel the need to later.
