Gigabit speed?

Since the XPS has gigabit lan, how do I determine that I am getting the best out my lan adapter?

Hook up to a gigabit network and test your throughput.  Qcheck is a good tool for testing.

All devices along the way must be Gigabit. On my network, I have a 400SC server and my Dell XPS 700 hooked up to a D-Link DGL-4300. Everything is Gigabit. When transfering large files across the network, it is definitely noticeable.
