Help - Computer start up.

I have a computer that boots sometimes not. Hers is what it does. It will shut down on its own and the screen will be black and will have a blinking cursor up in the left corner. We are not experiencing any power problems when this happens. No matter what you it will only boot to the above screen.

I have called dell tech support. The lady was on the phone with me for about 3 or 4 hours. We did a complete reinstall of all hardware and software. I put the computer back out and it worked about 2 weeks.

I then brought the PC back to my office. I tried to boot it repeatedly. Still nothing, I then took the side case off and removed the nic card and tried to reboot again. Still nothing, I then checked the video card and made sure it was seated. I then tried to start the PC again. This time it fired up. I have done this once before. At the time though, we did not know if this fixed the problem. At this time I have not been able to duplicate the failure. I did notice there is a green plastic peace holding the video card from coming out.

Anyone had this problem before.

http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document.asp?DN=1012473 try this site. The green piece on the video card is to prevent the card from unseating when moving the system around.

I kinds thought that is what that green thingy did. The document you gave me is right on the money. The only problem is, this computer does not have a CD-R drive or any of the software mentioned in the document. Should I go ahead do the change anyways?

    Thanks
