Go to SolutionHELP with BLue screen 0x24
My computer is a Dell Windows XP Home Edition 2400 Dimension.
I can't access it because the blue screen keeps starting everywhere even in safe modes.
The Blue Screen
A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

i tried repairing it by booting from the reinstall CD. but after i press "r" for repair, it is stuck on another blue screen saying " Examining 38147 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi...
I read about running chkdsk but i couldn't access the comman line interface so im very confused on what to do next.

I called dell regarding my error and they told me it was the hard drive, is that you have found out?

Well I guess that's all the proof you need. Time to get a new HD and reload system. If you don't have your Dell disks I suggest you order some now as you will need them to rebuild your operating system.
