I Don't Know What To Do- Please help :-(
Ok, this all started yesterday, when i got home....i had been gone all weekend. I went to my computer, and restarted it(to refresh it). It restarted, but just before it would normally show the desktop, i got the blue screen of death saying this error.
File Name: VMM(01)+0000FC82 Error: 0D:0028:C0010C82
I have no idea what this error is, or where it came from. Is there any way to interpret this? Ok, after the blue screen of death, the computer froze, i pushed any key like the error said to continue using Wondows. This didn't work, so i pushed the restart button. So, this time i did not get this error. But when i got back to the desktop, i tried opening some random prgrams to see if everything was working. Many programs would not work, or not even open. For instance- Outlook Express. I clicked on the shortcut on the desktop, and nothing would happen. Then 5 mnutes later the Outook splash screen would appear, but the program wouldn't fully open. This would happen with a few different, unrelated programs. So, i restarted. But, i then got the Blue Screen Of Death again, with the same error. It froze again, so i restarted. It restarted, i got the error again, so i pushed restart button. I the did this again, same blue screen, same error. This time when i restarted, the Windows Startup screen came on, and said Windows had failed to load properly on the last 4 occassions, and it gave me the option to start in safe mode. So i did. Once Safe Mode started, i decided to do system restore? So i did, i restored to 5 days earlier. It restarted on its own, but then once i saw the screen saying your computer has been restored to this date, it was frozen, forcing me to push restart button. So it restarted fine, and the desktop appeared.
Now, the computer restarts fine each time i safely restart. BUT, i am having the same problmes with the programs not opening, or freezing while opening. So when this happens, i push Ctrl-Alt-Del and the same name is always Not Responding. That name is: Msimn- this could be related to Outlook, because that is the program i try opening. Also i noticed that before i did System Restore, and before i saw these Blue Screen of Deaths, the internet(MSN) kept trying to Dial on its own, and when i would push cancel, it would stop, and then redial. This kept happening, even after the restart, MSN would dial when the computer was booting. I always have the connection set to Never Dial a Conncetion. I know much about computers, and have Clean installed WinME atleast 10 in the last year or more.
So, now what am i supposed to do?
thanks
