The best advice is to not use hibernation (or standby mode) on a desktop computer.  These modes were designed to work well on laptops where their primary function is to conserve battery life. On laptops, all components are designed to work well with this critical function.  On desktops, hardware, software, drivers, etc. are not all necessarily designed to work as well with hibernate and standby.  Some combinations work, others don't.  You can spend many hours trying to figure out which component isn't working, or you can take the easy way out and set stanby and hibernate to never and set your power savings mode to turn off your monitor and hard drive after a specified period of time.  If you do a search on this forum, you will find this advice given time after time.
