I recently inherited a Dell XPS GEN 4 that pretty much crashed on arrival. After much headache, I got the whole system back together with a new motherboard and all hardware is working fine. I now I have a NTFS error STOP: 0X00000024 when I am trying to boot up. What is odd is when I first turned the system on it did boot up all the way to the desktop for a while and then it crashed and I have been getting this error ever since. I have never really dealt with a RAID before this so I am just not sure what to do. I want to see if I can just repair the boot files but my XP disk can not find the HD's because of the RAID. I have downloaded the RAID driver, can I just install it when I get to the point in XP install where I hit F6 and then proceed with a repair? I am not sure what to do. I do not know how long the RAID had been set up and I can not get any more information on it as the original owner has passed away. Our main goal at the moment is to recover data from the drives since there stuff on the system with sentimental value.
