Optiplex 360 Audio Question
Hi all, first post here. I wanted to know if either my monitor and/or desktop optiplex 360 has built in speakers.
Montior: 1908FTp (AUDIO JACK DC 12V)
Desktop: OPTIPLEX 360 (Green Audio jack)
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 32BIT
I have a SoundMAX Integrated Digital High Defintion Audio.....but not sure if it needs a cable or not. If this tower does not have built in speakers I will resort to buying to external USB powered speakers.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi bigboss10,
Welcome to Dell community!
Dell 1908FP monitor does not have internal speakers. One can purchase Dell Soundbar that can be attached to the bottom of the monitor.
On the other hand, OptiPlex 360 has optional Chassis speakers. To check if your OptiPlex 360 has the chassis speakers, click the volume icon in the system tray of the taskbar. Click the slider that’s used to increase/decrease volume and check if any sounds are heard.
Also, if the internal chassis speakers are installed but external speakers/headphones are connected to the front/rear audio ports, the internal speakers are disabled by default.
Awaiting your response!

Hi bigboss10,
Please connect external speakers or headphones to the green audio port on the rear end of the computer and check if the audio works. You may also check if audio works when headphones are connected to the front headphone connector.
If there is audio output via external speakers/headphones, the chassis internal speakers are not available in your computer.
