When my 8100 arrived last December, it too had 128 Mb of PC600 RDRAM (2 sticks of 64Mb). When I upgraded to 256 MB I went with all PC800 and essentially junked the two 64Mb sticks of PC600. The performance improvement was dramatic, although I don't have any Benchmark test to prove it. If you search the forum, however, you will find others who have moved to PC800 that have conducted benchmark tests that show perfomance improvement. Just remeber that you have to install RDRAM on the 8100 in pairs (i.e. 2 sticks of 128 Mb to make 256 Mb).

If you choose to replace your existing RDRAM, you may be able to sell the old modules on e-bay or Dell's auction site.

Yes but is the performance worth it? I'll probably do it anyway but it never hurts to have reassurances!
