PCI versus PCI Express

I just received my Dimension 4700C which has 2 PCI Express slots (x1 and x16).
A standard PCI card does not fit.
Is there a wireless adaptor available which fits a PCI Express slot?

    Hi,

At present, PCI Express is a graphics card slot only.

If you are short of standard PCI slots look towards a combination card.  There are many different pattern & format combination cards available these days, having two or more of the functions normally only available from a single PCI card.

    Ceri,
the problem I have is that Dell did not put one standard PCI slot on the Dimension 4700C.

Eventually there will be PCIe wireless adaptors, but right now you can also get something like a USB wireless adaptor.

(And just a warning-those slim form factor systems aren't very upgradeable.  You won't be able to put a mid to high end video card in there, for example.)
