Power button

Ok, I posted questions about this short while ago, but since DELL reorganized categories, I can't find my old posts.
When I open the case and cover and press the actual power button on switch panel, it works fine. But when I put the cover back on, I have to press the botton on the cover hard to turn it on. Anyone else having this problem?

Plastic peg behind the power button may have been damaged or incorrect size from start. But if this just started happening, then re-set the front panel so the button is aligned properly with the control panel.

My power button doesn't work period.

Take the cover off and see if anything on the back of the button on the cover isn't broken. The cover could also be worped, but I doubt it. The power button on the computer itself could not be comming out as far as it should also.

I know I wasn't much help, just some few thoughs that come to my mind on late nights.

    Good Luck.

Ok...today I opened the cover and everything looked fine. I think cover is the problem. The connection between cover and the actual switch is bad...I just e-mailed Dell today.
