Power Problems
Hi,
I have been having problems with my Dell Dimension 8400 desktop computer. I have had the computer for about five months. The current problem has been going on for several weeks. I use my computer for about 2 hours and then I shut it down, normally. Afterwards, it does not want to turn on, the light on the CPU flashes amber. Otherwise, it turns on, and starts Windows normally, but then randomnly turns off, without any warning. All the programs work fine, so I suspect that this is a hardware problem. My fan works, but it is very weak sometimes. I am not sure if that is normal. I spoke with a Dell Support Representative and he told me to take out the modem card, unplug the power cables for all the drives, the motherboard cables, and to take out the memory chips. After I put them back, the computer worked fine, for about a day. Now it shuts off randomnly again. What should I do?
Thank you for your help.
