    mrsj1123,

Who is your Internet Service Provider (ISP)?  AOL?  Earthlink? ATT? MSN?

    mrsj1123,

Using Cox Cable, you are probably needing to use Outlook Express.  You will need to know your user name, your e-mail address (UserName@cox.net), your password, the name of your outgoing mail server and the name of your incoming mail server.  Open Outlook Express (or click the mail icon in Internet Explorer) and it should ask you if you want Outlook Express to be your default mail client.  If it does not ask you this question, click Tools on the top menu bar, and click on Accounts.  You should be able to configure your new e-mail client from there.  To get the particular settings that you will need (mail server names, etc...), you will need to call Cox Cable.  In fact, Cox Cable's tech support can guide you step-by-step through setting up your e-mail service.  You can also check their support website at this link:

    http://support.cox.net/custsup/index.shtml

You will find your POP3 / SMTP settings here:

    http://support.cox.net/custsup/email/POP_SMTP_settings.shtml

You can even chat with a live Cox Cable tech support person at this link:

    Happy e-mailing!
