Speeding up the cpu

I was wonderin.....I have a Dimensions 2350 with a P2.4 and BIOS version A02. I ran some testes and they said that the cpu could be run at 2.8. But I cant figure out how. Nothing in the BIOS will let me change the clock speed. Can any one tell me if I can speed it up?  Any help would be good.  Thanx  cnd_man

The only way you can speed it up is to install a 2.8 Ghz CPU.  There is nothing you can change in the BIOS that will make a 2.4 ghz CPU run faster than 2.4 Ghz.

So I couldnt upgrade the BIOS to a hogher version that would let it run at 2.8 or higher? Cause from I read in the tests is that it was made as a 2.8  but knocked down to a 2.4.  Or am I just swinging wildly here? :P

Not possible unless you install a 2.8 GHz CPU.

The CPU you have is designed (and locked) to run at the speed you see.

    Don't know? Then don't respond.

Sir, your CPU isn't locked (well, it's multiplier is). The only thing that is locked is your BIOS like gent above said. Don't flash your BIOS unless you like big risks. The only way you can get to your 2.8GHz mark is to go ahead and the CPU, or another motherboard that will allow you to overclock to your desired speed.
