Startup Problem

When I try to start my XPS Gen4 system after it has been completely off, the two main fans start and run very fast, continuously.  The boot up process does not even start.  Can anyone offer any suggestions on remedying this?

Thank you.

    dforrest,

    * What color are the four ABCD Gen 4 Diagnostic Lights on the rear of the PC?

    * Do you hear any Gen 4 Beep Codes ?

Thanks Chris.  I have now managed to start it and do not want to turn it off before I need to!  As soon as I have to, if it acts as before, I will check the codes.  What I do remenber is that it gives one short beep before the fans start running.

The problem has not happened again since the multiple occurrences prior to me starting this thread.

I am assuming that the problem is associated with cooling of the processor.  Is it possible to provide additional cooling to this system (Dimension XPS Gen4), or has anyone any other tips?  The fans never seem to be running very fast in normal use.
