I deleted some files the other day--.doc files, not program files--and this morning my computer would not boot up.  It shows the blue Dell screen, and I can get into setup, and I can run a dos disk, but my system can't find the system.ini file.  Also, I looked, and autoexec.bat and config.sys are both blank.  Yeesh! 

My documentation says to use the emergency boot disk that came with the computer, but my computer did not come with either an emergency boot disk or an emergency boot cd (I checked the inventory list).  Additionally, my cd device driver has been lost, and I cannot reinstall it from disk--the dos message just tells me it's a bad filename or command.

Can I get an emergency boot disk somewhere?  Will this solve my problems?  Is there a Santa Claus?
