You cannot overclock a Q6600 in the bios only the QX versions were overclock-able in the bios. You could obtain a overclock using the program form Nvidia called Ntune but that would only kick in after the program loaded and the overclock was minimal at best.The program is not available any longer either.  The best I ever got was up to 2.6.

These systems are also extremely picky about using ram in all four of the slots. You might be able to get 8 gigs running but it would very trial and error.  4 gig will be about the most you will be able to get with little issues. Make sure that any ram you get is spec'd for voltage level of 1.8v .

In the Bios it just says that the system can be overclocked if turned on in the bios, I assume with the NTune software which is on the PC already.

right now it only has PC2 5300, 2gb of RAM. I wanted more as I run out of RAM sometime using photoshop and video editing software.

Yes true it can be overclocked in the bios but only if you have one of the extreme processors with the (X) in the name other wise it cannot. The Q6600 cannot be overclocked in the bios. I had a 700( the same mother board as 710) upgraded to a 720 board with a Q6600 in it previously and you cannot overclock it.

You should be able to upgrade the ram to 4 gig  but i would strongly recommend using four 1 gig sticks. The ram controllers in these series of system are extremely picky about ram
