8500 bios problem
I start up my system, the screen flashes twice with a cursor in the upper left corner, goes black and then boots to windows. I no longer get a splash screen for Dell nor do I get the options to enter bios set up or boot sequence.
please help!

Thanks to all that replied!!! After an hour on chat with Dell support, they came to the conclusion that my motherboard had to be replaced... At the cost of $485.00... At this point I decided to take matters or parts into my own hands... I cracked the case open only to find that a small plastic pin retainer for the monitor power cut off (used to kill power to monitor when it is closed) had broken... one drop of super glue and a small piece of plastic later.... And my laptop is as good as new.

If it wont boot try safe mode which I assume you already did. hold F8 when you turn it on at least then you can do some diagnostics.
