Just upgraded my inspiron from the 128mb radeon 9700 to the 256mb radeon 9800.

But the screen near the dell is getting really hot, even when the desktop is on, and the card aint doinging anything intensive.

Also i am getting graphics corruption on screen, with multi-coloured blocks all over the screen, this could appear on boot, or after a few hours.

Tried different drivers and still the same.

Is it normal for the screen to be this hot!!!!

Looks like the card i got must be defective in some way.

any help appreciated
