alienware 14 cannot eject cd

How do I eject a cd when there is no OS on the laptop?  This is one of those where you insert a CD into a slot so there is no eject button.  So frustrating.

    Hello,

You may want to try to enter the System Setup by starting the computer and tapping the button when it starts to power up.  Depending on the version you may be able to eject it within the BIOS, but I don't have a copy of that available so I can't guarantee it.

Since the + are Windows based keyboard shortcuts those shouldn't work for you either.  In the end you may need to take the system apart to get the CD out.  Here is a link to our Dell Support Pages

and if you input your service tag it will take you to the product support pages for the Alieneware 14.  There you will find user manuals that will show you how to do repairs on the system, and you can use those to see how to take it apart.

But I would really recommend taking it to an experienced repair person to have that done.  In the long run that may be the cheapest, and easiest, way to proceed.

Other than installing Windows again and seeing if you can eject it normally.
