Blue Screen
Hi,
I have a new D800 with the GeoForce 4200 Go video card. After installing the Need 4 Speed game I cannot change my resolution to 1900x1200. Also the laptop now just goes to blue screen every time there is a screen change within the game.
I have downloaded the latest drivers but still the same happens. After the re-boot it also gives me the opportunity to change the screen size to 1900x1200 but when I choose this in the screen properties it comes back with the fact that I dont have the administrative privileges to do this even though I am an administrator on my laptop. After this message I dont get a chance to choose the 1900x1200 screen resolution as the maximum screen resolution is 1600x1200.
Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me up the wall!!

- Hi. I had a similar blue screen problem on my Inspiron 5100 related to my video card (Radeon 7500C). My computer wouldn't play games with blue screening, and then it started going to blue screen every time I booted up. I was installing different drivers but nothing was making any difference. What finally fixed it was using this little utility, Driver Cleaner: http://www.drivercleaner.net/. I used it to remove my video drivers (and only my video drivers), and then reinstalled the original drivers. It must have gotten rid of some persistent corrupted driver file that wasn't being over-written. I hope this helps somebody; it was driving me crazy.

make sure that you have dx9b installed; reboot
then install need for speed again
hard way: go get detonator cleaners, use to wipe video drivers completely and re-install latest video drivers
