Control keys problem
Hello,
I have a problem with my control keys. I hope this issue will be an easy one.
I have a latitude D820 bought recently. I have not done any SO change or installed dangerous software.
Sometimes my control keys behaves wierd. Left control key acts as F1 key and right control key acts as mute key (i see the little box indicating audio is mute/activated). It is very disturbing since I can't do any control- short cut.
I would appreciate any help on this.

I am having the same issue as well. I looked through the forum and one hint is that there is a loose keyboard connector inside the laptop case. I hope that is not the case with mine since it is brand new out of the box.
I have tried to contact Dell, but they claim it is a software issue and I dont have a "software service agreement" with them so they are not willing to help at the moment. Maybe now since I have read a few more posts, it could be hardware related instead.

I have done the resetting of the connector to the keyboard and it is working great. Now I have to call Dell and tell them it was a hardware problem so they can tell me how to fix it.
Thanks to all,

The instructions I found were in the User Manual...not to hard to do, be careful with the plastic parts. Here is a link to the Manual
