Cooling
I'm running an i5150.
Windows XP
3.06 GHZ intel
512 Ram
Radeon 9000 64 MB
40 gig HD
A29 bios for now...
I've found my video troubles to be caused by heating. Problem just arose the past 2 weeks, i've had the computer since August 2003. The video speeds up and slows down. I know it's heating because i stuck a large fan (1.5 ft by 1.5 ft) underneath the laptop and it was able to run much longer before the slowmo. However the slowmo did come back.
I have and am running I8FanGui, running the fan at "fast" constantly. But it does not seem to run the fan as fast as it did when i had the original BIOS (A02 or A03, can't remember). I thought i read that the A29 bios ran the fan faster than other bios, but i am not having that result.
My hardware question: What would be the best solution to cooling the laptop down? Also, are there any settings that will make the fan run faster?
Thanks all.
