Crazy typing

I seem to have a problem, it does it in Vista and XP. When I type messages sometime my typing will go back to the cursor is. So if the cursor is in the middle of a sentence and I am not looking at what I am typing, I the cursor will move my typing to where ever it is. So I could be typing and look up and see that i finished a sentence in the middle instead of the end. I thought it was my old mouse so I trashed it. I find that it still happens even without a mouse. Has anyone else had this problem?

Here is what Dell suggested and it does seem to work:

Thank you for contacting Dell XPS Support.

The problem is the mouse is too sensitive.  Try this:

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel.

    Double-click the Mouse icon.

On the Dell Touchpad tab click the image of the touchpad.

    Click the Touchpad Settings link.

The Touch Sensitivity feature adjusts the responsiveness of the touchpad. Set this towards the Heavy Touch side of the slider.

Ensure the Enable box in the TouchCheck section is checked.

    Click OK.
