diagnostics problem

when i run the diagnostics at the pre-boot menu the following message diplays :

Short DST Short test

Test results: Fail

Error code: 1000-0146

Msg: unit 0: DST Log Contais previous error.

please how can i fix it ?

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum,

This error sounds like you may have a Hard Drive failure. To get more detailed help I suggest for you to post more information like your system type, Operating System, and the symptoms that you are encountering.

I get the same problem and your people sent me a new hard drive. It worked for two weeks but now won't boot again. Of course now I am out of warranty by three weeks! Any ideas about what could cause two hard drives to fail?
