This is kind of a suggestion and kind of a problem. I have a tv hooked up as a second monitor. it takes an extra 5 minutes on startup for the Nvidia drivers and the windows mobility settings for my hybrid SLI m17x alienware to sort themselves out before my monitors stop flashing and refreshing. Half of the time the settings are the way they are suppose to be with my desktop extending to the left, and the other half the desktop extends to the right (not what I want). so it is obvious that even when i manually set the settings exactly the same on both the Nvidia control panel AND the windows mobility center, they try to out do each other on startup, switching settings back and forth until they finally get it right. I'm assuming this is a driver issue but I'm not exactly sure. I also do know for sure that Nvidia produced a new driver for my GeForce 280m GTX graphics cards which have better support for dual monitors, and SLI technology capability. But, they will not let me download it from their website because it comes up as saying that the manufacturer prefers to use THEIR drivers, and Alienware uses Dell's stuff because they own them now. So the request/suggestion is to please implement those drivers for the few of us with either the same laptop as mine or the same problems and the question is, is it really a driver problem or is there some way to disable the mobility center monitor settings?
