The left button on my touchpad suddenly stopped working.

I have taken the following steps to solve the problem

1.  Reinstalled driver

2.  Swapped touchpad with working touchpad from other e1505.  Working touchpad buttons did not work in mine, but my "broken" left button worked in the other.

3.  Reinstalled Windows XP.

I got so frustrated with this problem a while ago, I just bought a new Studio 15. I would like to get my e1505 working again so that I can give it to a friend.  Any help would be apreciated.
