Hey Man.

Not sure if you sorted this problem out but for those of you who haven't and spent hours looking for a solution like me, I have my stuff working again. The problem seems to have happened because of my Windows 10 upgrade. I'm not too sure if that's it but anyway.

I had downloaded another HD audio driver from the realtek website which then ended up giving me problems, probably because it wasn't from Dell so it wasn't optimised or anything.

I then went to look for an audio driver on Dell's driver and downloads page (I also have a XPS 15 L502X laptop) and saw that an audio driver download was already in my download list (probs from when i cleaned my hard drive and reinstalled everything).

The file's name is "Audio_Realtek_W8_A06_Setup-RKKTF_ZPE.exe" . I think the driver name is Realtek ALC269 HD Audio and the version is A06. I think it's for Windows 8 but it works on my Windows 10.

I downloaded this file. Uninstalled the previous Realtek driver. Restarted my PC. Installed this driver. Restarted my PC and boom, everything is back... For now.

Hope it helps. Not sure if this was resolved.

Hello. You could try Windows System Restore (type system restore into the Windows search box) and select a restore point from before the update, but if that does not work the only way I know of to get the WavesMaxx back the way it was when the laptop was new is to perform a system recovery (reset to factory configuration) and after that do not allow any update of the Realtek audio driver.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. This happened once I upgraded to windows 10 via the windows update.

Mine has the Skullcandy speakers with subwoofer and it had the MaxxAudio software. Since updating to Windows 10 That is now gone. Apparently it (MaxxAudio) wasn't compatible with 10 so I am assuming that we will have to wait for a patch or update so that the subwoofer will once again work and the sound will be back to where it should be. In the mean time Microsoft has *** A LOT OF PEOPLE OFF!!!!!

How will any of those help when it is the Win 10 update that has created the problem? Apparently

the MaxxAudio suite and realtek drivers aren't compatible with Win 10.

I have only have only had my Dell XPS 15 for a week and a half and have multiple problems and I've emailed 8 times tried calling 4 times put in sequence waiting for a rep for over two hours and then hung up on and have tried live chat twice to be in sequence again and also disconnected. When I got the laptop one of the fist things it did was update to the new windows 10. My sound is horrible full of base and no other levels and I don't have any equalizers whats so ever. I am hearing impaired so I have to be able to adjust the sound since I can't hear the lower and upper tones well. I just need help and Dell doesn't seem to care now that they have my money. My number 7 key also sticks and doesn't feel like the rest of the keys. And I'm missing a program I paid for. So unhappy regret paying the extra for premium support as well. Maybe someone from Dell will see this and contact me and Better yet fix our sound problems!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The "driver version A06" part did it for me :-)

I had the "A01" installed and after I uninstalled that one and installed the "A06" it worked for me.

NOTE: Just download the A06 driver installer. When you execute it, it will uninstall your old driver and restart, then execute it again after the restart, and the new driver will be installed (and computer will restart again).
