Hardware Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu

Have a Latitude CPx J650GT that was purchased on eBay. Has a 20gb HD that was wiped and a copy of Windows XP Pro freshly installed. Bios is updated to A16. Boots to Dell screen then computer starts beeping and then boots to "Hardware Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu". The only option in the menu is "Undocked Profile". I naturally choose this, press enter, and am booted to Windows which runs without any problems. I can shut down Windows but the next time I turn on the computer, "Voila", "Groundhog Day", same booting to Dell screen, then the beeping, and the "Hardware Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu with the same option of the "Undocked Profile". Not sure if this is a Windows problem or laptop problem. Have gone to the "System" in the Windows Control Panel but could find no Hardware problems. Any suggestions? Thanks, BK.

Have you resolved this issue yet? I have Lattitude D510 with the same issue.
