HELP
T Can anyone give me a way to contact a Dell executive or corporate person who might be able to help me get my laptop back? The problem is this: My inspiron 9300 randomly emits a system beep and then immediately powers off. After 3 or 4 telephone calls for troubleshooting tech support asked me to send ym laptop to the repair depot. I sent my laptop to Dell to be repaired per my service contract, they received it, replaced the motherboard, heatsink, system fan and ac adapter and sent it back to me. Within 2 weeks it was doing the same thing, system beep then power off. 3 more troubleshooting service calls before they offered to have me send it in AGAIN! This time the box came without a shipping label to return it to the depot. I called tech support, they will mail me a label. 1 week later -no label! I call again, our apologies we will email you a label. I print the label and send it the next day. Unknown to me the label was for GROUND service. I send it back on the 16th of October. It arrives per UPS on October 23rd. Now they can't or won't send it back. I have been on the phone and online chat with someone from Dell 5 different days since the 25th of October. Every status I get is different and no one returns my calls. I have names and ID #s of at least 5 people I have talked to in customer service and tech support. They all give me different and conflicting information.
I have been told since the 25th of October:
- Our system is down and we cannot give you a status
- Your system is on Hold per the Credit Card Dept (I never had a credit w/ Dell)
- Your system is frozen per Customer Service
- Your system was returned to you, but I am unable to provide you with the tracking number used to send it back to you
- Your system has not arrived at the Depot, even though the tracking number shows it being signed for
- The parts are on back-order, we don't know when they will be in
- Your system accidentally was shipped to Austin instead of our repair facility, we don't know why
- We are in the process of locating your system and have put a trace in to find it which may take 24-48 hours
- Your system is lost
- Your system is in the process of being replaced but there is a hold of some sort
All of these answers are followed by "I will" or "My supervisor will" or "My manager will" or (my personal favorite) "A Corporate Service Manager will" contact you within 24 hours to provide you with additional information. Then 2-3 days later I call back because no one contacted me and no one knows what is happening.
In the meantime Dell has had my laptop for more time in the last 6 weeks than I have and I keep getting the runaround. I have literally spent more than 15 hours on the phone with Dell and have been disconnected from Online chat all 3 times I have attempted that service option. Can anyone help me?

- Since this is under warranty Dell should get their act together and get you your laoptop back ASAP.But if you purchased your laptop with a major credit card like master card visa or amex they most likely offer an extended 1 yr warranty. This warranty cover loss, accidental breakage and repairs. I had a problem like this once. Called my CC company told them I was totaly dissatisfied with the product and service and they gave me a full refund no questions at all. So maybe try that now. Got nothing to lose. And if I were you I would send a personal letter to Michael Dell explaining your experience and never buy a Dell again.
