Inspiron 15r 7520 boot problem
Hi, I fitted an SSD in the optical drive caddy and all was well. For some reason the disk became corrupted so I had to rebuild it. Done that and now I'm having difficulty getting it to boot from ODD in F2 setup. I enabled legacy option ROM so can see network and ODD boot options. My laptop now boots to network first then my SSD. Unfortunately when I try to change the boot order from network to ODD the laptop crashes. It's happens ever time I tried to change boot option. I can press F12 and choose it ok but I want it to boot automatically to my ODD. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot Charlie

Hi Sujatha,
I managed to get the USB recovery flash drive to work, but sporadically.
I get the choice to Run program from HD or USB. Choosing HD doesn't work.
Choose USB
welcome screen - Next
Reports 'did not find any issues'
Choose factory image on USB (no other choice) - Next
Choose 'Refresh' - Next
Initialisze OK
Back up data OK
Preparing Hard Drive OK
Restoring system - FAILS (tried a dozen times and it fails every time)
I'm loath to try Recover option as I lose all data
Please help

Hi Sujatha, I've sorted everything out but my recovery partition on the hdd has been corrupted. I originally made a recovery drive on a USB memory stick but can't get it to boot. Tried everything but to no avail. Unsure what to do now as I haven't got a recovery disk so can't start rebuilding my laptop. Suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you Anthony

Hi Charlie,
Please check the boot order in the BIOS. Tap F2 at start up to go to the BIOS. Navigate to Boot menu and click on Legacy Boot and check what is listed first in the order. Reply with the status
