Intel Mobile Roadmap
For anyone who prefers not to read it in some online tabloid magazine...

The Intel roadmap says that Dothan 1.7GHz will appear before the end of June, while frequencies higher than 1.7GHz won't be available before July.
Unofficial predictions are more optimistic; see, e.g.,

If we choose not to believe you and your source and instead choose to rely on what Intel's president said in a news story we are all just stupid Americans hey Randy?@You said mid to late June @ the earliest. I believe, others have said May. It won't be hard to figure out who's source was right now will it?
I'll help you......If it is released in May you are wrong. If it is released in Mid to Late June you are right. Can you understand that or do you need a conference to tell you that as well?
ripper,
You are absolutely right. However, in another thread regarding the release of the "dothan" processor (which I don't really care that much about either). He came out and said that anyone that believed and dare to challenge anything other than the info he received at the intel conference was stupid/dumb/(pick a word) because he is "in the know". Thus the first line of his message is the sarcasm about reading the online tabloids.
smackie.
BTW - By Canada giving the world Pamela Anderson they have done more than their fair share.
PS. Shania ain't bad either.
I'm not sure whether CNET News.com is an "online tabloid magazine", but anyway, here it is
ZD Net (another "tabloid") repeats the former story:

By "Tabloid"; I was referring to the 'Enquirer'. I like to read Znet, but their info is still second hand. I still prefer to believe someone who actually works for the company - not a colleague of an aquaintance who claims to be quoting the president of the company. Intel could have moved the release date up without informing it's employees; but, as was stated - it doesn't really matter one way or the other! In my original post; I was merely offering some first-hand information. I never anticipated getting involved in a shooting match.
