Invalid Service Tag/Customer Support
I just bought my Dell Studio XPS Laptop on Sept 1 and of course didn't receive it until a week and a half later. Everything was great until I tried to register for the upgrade for Windows 7. Thats when the trouble began. I was told then that my service tag wasn't working. No problem I thought...I wlll just call customer service and they will get it fixed. Well that was well over a week ago and I am still getting the run around. No one seems to know how to fix the problem. When I call them I get sent to so many different people I can't keep it straight. One actually took over my computer then asked if he could call back which was no problem. Well he had control of my computer for an hour doing nothing so I just turned it off and he never did call back. When I ask to speak to someone in North America I am told that I can if I want to pay for it. What kind of customer service is this???? I have always been a fan of Dell and told many people how good their product is, and even have a Dell Desktop. Now I will let them know that the product may be good but the service isn't. I myself will think long and hard before I ever buy another Dell. Just hope Dell will get my service tag working so I can get the free upgrade to Win 7.

Normally it can take 5-10 business days to have the service tag updated to the Dell system. Did you Register your system see HERE
