Network Adapter Latitude D600
At 7h30 a.m. did connect through my usual cable connection I disconnected and came back around 9h00 No connection... I went to the Task manager and it tells me: No Active Network Adapters Found How can it disapear just like that? What can I do ? (writing this from someone else's computer obviously... Probeus

I did click on View and select Show Hidden Devices, and now it shows a list of 8 items
So at least it identifies that it is there...
It says they all work properly tough...
Do I still go through the F12 routine or else ?

Probeus - Yes I did check if the cable was plugged in
No light on the network plug when the cable is in.
The computer I use to reply to this is plugged with the same cable...so the network connection works...
I don't have other conenctions here.
As i said, the task managersays that there's no Network Adapter Found...I can't see it through Device Manager either...when minutes earlier everything was fine!!
Probeus - I assume you have cycled the power and rebooted.In Device Manager, right-click on the computer and re-scan for devices. Does it show up?If you click on View and select Show Hidden Devices, does it show up?I don't know if there's anything in the BIOS to show the network is working. You might check by pressing when you boot and looking at the settings.You might also try to get to the boot menu and see if you try a network boot to see if the lights come on.It is possible that the network interface just gave up.
- Is the network connected? If you open My Network Places properties, does it show up? Have you rebooted?If it's still not showing up, you might try the boot. I don't know if you can see anything or not.If you want to see if your network is working without Windows, download the Ubuntu distribution, burn it to a CD, and try booting it. If the network works under Ubuntu, it's a Windows issue. I've used the Ubuntu desktop distribution on a D-600 and the internal network was supported out of the box. Once you boot from the CD, open Firefox and see if you can browse the Internet.This will not touch your Windows disk at all as long as you don't run the install.

There are probably other things you can try but I'd see if the connection is good before going too far.
